RFID Journal Cancels LIVE! 2020, Announces Immersive Virtual Event

Maintaining the health and safety of every member of the incredible RFID community, as well as that of the RFID Journal team, is paramount to us. In consultation with the industry, we postponed RFID Journal LIVE! at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., from April 28-30 to September 9-11, 2020. Amid growing concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, and after having extensive discussions with many of you on the viability of our postponement dates, we have been forced to formally cancel RFID Journal LIVE! 2020.

The cancellation of the live event is due to the ongoing progression of the COVID-19 pandemic, including the latest government data, measures, and guidelines on the phased reopening plans in the U.S.; current restrictions on congregating and large gatherings imposed by states and other government and public health authorities; the inability of RFID Journal’s international community to travel to the event due to travel restrictions and bans; and the various company-imposed travel restrictions on employees affecting attendees and participating companies.  

 “RFID Journal LIVE! is an important annual event for the RFID industry, in which buyers, sellers, researchers, academics and others come together, from around the world, to meet, share ideas and do business,” said Mark Roberti, founder and editor of RFID Journal. “We’re disappointed that we will not be able to hold a face-to-face event this year, but we want to keep the industry moving forward by holding a highly interactive virtual event, with great conference sessions, exhibits and networking opportunities.”

RFID Journal Virtually LIVE! 2020 will be an engaging and an immersive virtual experience with features for the entire RFID community. Two days of live-cast sessions will feature case studies in key industries—Retail and Apparel, Manufacturing, Health Care, and Defense and Aerospace—as well as sessions on how to build out an RFID infrastructure, how to integrate RFID with blockchain and other solutions, and much more.

Attendees will be able to visit exhibitors in their booth, read materials, learn about product offerings and chat live with exhibitors. We are confirming dates for the fall event and will be sharing additional information very soon.

“Nothing can replace the value of a face-to-face gathering, but RFID Journal Virtually LIVE! will come close,” said Roberti. “If you are looking to research RFID solutions and find answers to your business problems, this online event will go a long way toward meeting your needs.”

RFID Journal LIVE! will return as a physical event April 27-29, 2021, at the Phoenix Convention Center. RFID Journal is working with the venue and hotels to ensure the event is productive, safe and healthy for our exhibitors and attendees.

General FAQs

Do you have more information regarding the RFID Journal Virtually LIVE! event?

We are planning a fully virtual event experience this fall featuring much of our same agenda planned for RFID Journal LIVE! 2020. We are working to confirm our dates and speakers, and will be announcing full details and agenda very soon!

Should I cancel my flight?

Many airlines are offering waived change fees at this time. We recommend changing your flights and any other transportation services to align with the April 27-29, 2021, show dates at the Phoenix Convention Center as soon as possible.

What about my hotel reservation?

If your hotel reservations were booked through our official housing provider EventSphere, your reservation will be automatically cancelled with no charge or penalty to you. No other follow up will be necessary.

If you made a hotel reservation outside of our hotel block (directly with the hotel or through booking providers unaffiliated with RFID Journal LIVE!), you will need to cancel your reservation on your own.

 

What are the future dates for RFID Journal LIVE!?

The next in-person RFID Journal LIVE! will take place April 27-29, 2021, at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Ariz. RFID Journal Virtually LIVE! will take place on September 30 – October 1.

I am currently registered to attend the show. Will my registration roll over to next year’s event on April 27-29, 2021?

Yes! If you were already registered to attend RFID Journal LIVE!, your funds will automatically roll over to RFID Journal LIVE! 2021 in Phoenix. You will also be preregistered for the upgraded conference pass for RFID Journal Virtually LIVE! 2020, with all fees waived.

Will RFID Journal be offering additional education opportunities through the remainder of this year?

Yes! We are well underway working to provide a virtual event platform where you can take part in our curated education sessions, learn from industry leaders, connect with solution providers and engage with the RFID community. Please expect confirmed dates and more updates on our RFID Journal Virtually LIVE! event in the coming weeks.

Will my exhibit space and/or sponsorship contracts automatically roll over to 2021?

No. We will be instituting a rebooking process based on our priority points system as planned. However, there will be an option to credit your funds to 2021, but a new booth space/sponsorship contract will be required for our new venue.

I booked a scanner through Experient. How do I get a refund?

Please send an email to answers.leadservices@experient-inc.com with a copy of your receipt/confirmation or invoice number. Please allow 7-10 business days for processing by Experient.

I booked operational services through RFID Journal LIVE! vendors. How do I get a refund?

To request a refund for any Shepard services such as freight shipping, material handling, furniture, etc., please email Aaron Batson with Shepard at abatson@shepardes.com.
